October 2025 TAKE ACTION by Oct 6th - Comment on FAA Drone Rule

ACTION ITEM: Comment on FAA Drone Rule

The FAA is proposing a new rule on how drones will operate in communities across the U.S., which eventually means more low-altitude overflights affecting all of us.  The proposal would allow drones to fly “Beyond Visual Line of Sight” (BVLOS), meaning operators could fly them long distances where they can’t be seen directly.  This raises safety risks, relies on outdated noise metrics, and leaves out meaningful community input.

Although this rule would not immediately apply to the Washington DC metro area because of national security concerns, eventually it might -- and it affects virtually all other communities across the U.S., including many that we all visit and where loved ones live.

The Aviation-Impacted Communities Alliance (AICA) has submitted a detailed comment, and you can help amplify it. Please take 2 minutes before ***Oct 6th*** to copy the template comment into the portal, add your own text and thoughts if you wish, and make your voice heard.
